If you want to serve your community and you have a compassionate heart especially for those experiencing their last days, then Virginia Mason Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care has a meaningful volunteer experience for you.

Currently seeking volunteers with trained therapy dogs to do home visits with sick and dying patients on Hospice. (Locations in Pierce, Kitsap, and King counties, WA state.)

Our volunteers take time to honor and celebrate people's lives all the way until the end. You can help by listening to a person's life stories or their favorite music. You can sit with them while their family gets a break. You can run errands, make courtesy phone calls, welcome patients and their families at Hospice House, and so much more.

Description

Franciscan Hospice exists in the hope and belief that through appropriate care, and promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.
