The Quiet Coalition

National non-profit, The Quiet Coalition (TQC; thequietcoalition.org) seeks a senior staff volunteer to team with the NYC-based Executive Editor and Boston-based Program Director. TQC is a national, independent program operated by the national nonprofit organization Quiet Communities (QC; quietcommunities.org).

QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with WordPress. Familiarity with social media campaigning; must be a careful, tech-savvy writer/editor.

TIME REQUIRED: flexible; approx. 5 to 15 hours per week. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with the Executive Editor on TQC’s newsroom and blog operations: formatting submitted work; adding media to posts (including satisfying Creative Commons attribution requirements); writing heads/subheads; light editing; maintaining TQC social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook). Incremental work with QC is anticipated as well.

ABOUT: TQC is a national organization of distinguished professionals in scientific research, medicine, healthcare, public health, law and public policy that gathers, interprets, organizes and disseminates credible, research-based evidence about the impacts of environmental noise on health, learning, productivity, and quality of life in America. TQC’s host, Quiet Communities addresses environmental noise related to outdoor power equipment through education, public advocacy, outreach, and community programs.
