Are you passionate about recycling? Help your community and the environment by volunteering at our Red Bridge Community Recycling Center! Your volunteer service is so important - recycling not only keeps waste out of the landfills, it also preserves forests; keeps oil, natural gas, and minerals in the ground; and prevents air and water pollution. Our recycling centers are unique in that we accept items not recycled curbside and provide options to the many people who do not have access to recycling at home.
This outdoor volunteer opportunity is a great way to learn about the recycling process while making a difference in your community. Volunteers help people properly dispose of their recyclable materials, provide information about recycling and other environmental resources, and assist the site manager as needed.
Flexible shifts - Wednesday through Saturday. Recommended shift times are 9:30 am - 1:30 pm or 1:00 - 5:00 pm, but these times can be adjusted to fit your schedule. Priority shifts to fill are Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Red Bridge Recycling Center is located in South Kansas City. All volunteers must register in advance. To sign up for a shift, visit https://bridgingthegap.org/btgevents/ or text or call Ami at 816-561-1062 or email volunteer@bridgingthegap.org.

Mission Statement
Bridging The Gap's mission is to make the Kansas City region sustainable by connecting environment, economy and community.
Description
Bridging The Gap (BTG) educates citizens, businesses and governments about the impact their decisions have on our environment. We help them follow through with direct action to make our world, region and community green, healthy and sustainable.
BTG does this by working to create awareness of our environment and the need to make our communities sustainable at every level and in all life activities -- in homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods. In all of our work, we seek to create partnerships among governments, businesses, community leaders and individuals to improve our community by making it healthy and sustainable for our future.
