Work on a team to respond to 9-1- 1 emergency medical calls. EMT crews provide immediate care to the sick and injured, and transport patients safely by ambulance to area hospitals. EMTs volunteer for one night per week (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM), and as available on weekends. Volunteers respond from home if there is a call. Because of this you must be a Tewksbury resident. The rescue squad pays for all training and uniforms.
The Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue Squad supports the emergency medical needs of our community.
The Squad was established in 1990 by dedicated volunteers who were serving our community through other Fire, First Aid and Rescue Services. We have been providing excellence in prehospital care for 27+ years. Our prehospital services range from Basic Life Support (BLS) to extrication during motor vehicle accidents to various other forms of Rescue Services. We currently have 2 Ambulances, 2 First Responders, 1 Gator for Off Road Rescue/Transport and 1 Rescue Unit. We consist of approximately 25 active volunteers whose efforts result in 100% free service to Tewksbury Township citizens and guests. These dedicated volunteers hold various positions, participate in different committees and fulfill all of the training and continuing education required to serve the Township. Our ranks also include a vibrant Cadet program, members who are also Firefighters and members who are EMTs with other Squads.
