Volunteer with Junior Achievement as we help equip students in grades K-8 with the tools they need to succeed in their future. Junior Achievement has many free programs that are delivered to students from volunteers in corporations and in the community. Take this chance to make an impact on students with limited resources and not enough civic engagement from members in the community!
- Programs consist of 4-5 sessions that will be delivered during ONE DAY in a classroom for 3-4 hours. This is called a JA in a Day!
- Sessions are interactive and activity based - not lecture style!
- All training and materials are provided to volunteers in advance by a Junior Achievement manager.
- Programs come with guidebooks for volunteers to follow throughout the lessons.
- Requires no prior research...just a little prep time for each session in advance of the event!
- The teacher remains in the classroom at all times and will help facilitate activities!
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU IF:
- You have a background in business; management; planning; finance; entrepreneurship, marketing; have an all around good knowledge of the business world and can relate to students
- You are a High School student or College student in need of community service hours
- You are a part of an organization looking for a Group Volunteer Activity
There are many opportunities to deliver a Junior Achievement program to an elementary school classroom in Suburban Cook County and Southern Cook County schools. Contact us today!!!

Mission Statement
To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy.
Description
Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. In partnership with businesses and educators, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.
Our corporate and community volunteers deliver relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JA programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world - enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
Throughout JA's sequential and integrated kindergarten through high school programs, students think critically and solve complex problems. Through our business, financial, and entrepreneurial educational programs, we prepare students to:
- Proactively manage their finances;
- Become entrepreneurs; and
- Develop skills that will be recognized and valued in a global workforce.
During the 2017-2018 school year, JA of Chicago successfully reached 600,222 students of all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds and physical capabilities, including at-risk youth in twelve Chicago-area and northwestern Indiana counties.
