ep5 is a §501(c)(3) charitable foundation producing educational programming for public television and radio. This is provided at no charge to public broadcasting stations and other venues.

VOLUNTEER IN WEB DESIGN

The ep5 Educational Broadcasting Foundation needs an experienced and imaginative website designer who can distill our ancient and positively prehistoric existing website into a much smaller and striking contemporary exercise in effective communication.

We're a not-for-profit producer of educational content for public broadcasting, including radio and television documentaries and an informational science series. Our current website, which has temporarily been taken down for overhaul, is heavy on detail but pretty light on visual appeal. We know what we'd like to communicate, but we simply don't have the talent in-house for making it happen.

Our organization's objective is the production of genuinely educational television aimed at those under-served by existing resources. For instance, one proposed television series would enable young people without hope of access to college to learn software development in a major programming language as a vocational skill.

We need a web presence which will explain whom we are and what we do . . . and accomplish this clearly and efficiently. The resources required by the new website should be limited to HTML5 and CSS3.

Ideally, we prefer simple elegance and visual clarity over flashy web-page gimmickry.

Please note that this volunteer work is strictly non-commercial. This position is for someone who has done web design and can show us examples of original work; we do not seek someone learning the ropes and having little experience. We can provide several third-party websites as examples of the style, look, and feel that we would like for our own, although the volunteer who remakes our website will have ample creative freedom.
