Mission Statement

The mission of the Issaquah Historical Society is to discover, preserve and share the history of Issaquah and the surrounding area.

Description

The Issaquah History Museums is a nonprofit organization that provides access to the objects, photos, and archives that record Issaquah's history. We operate two museums, the Issaquah Train Depot and the Gilman Town Hall, both owned by the City of Issaquah. The Depot is on the federal National Register of Historic Places; it has been restored to its original condition through decades of loving and impassioned volunteer effort. Gilman Town Hall is Issaquah's first town hall; the city's 3rd jail is a concrete structure still located on our grounds. Our programs and operations are supported by a small part-time staff and many dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are directly responsible for keeping our doors open, our programs running, and our collections cared for.
