The Longest Day is all about love. Love for all those affected by Alzheimer's Disease. On and before Summer Solstice 6/21/18 people across the world will join the Alzheimer's Association to do an activity they love -- or an activity loved by those affected -- to help end Alzheimer's. The committee is the driving force by leading the way of enhancing the efforts of our participants in recruitment, cultivation, retention and fundraising.
The Longest Day Committee Positions at a Glance
The Longest Day Chair- The Chair serves as the volunteer leader for the strategy and execution of The Longest Day and works in conjunction with a Chapter Staff Partner. The Chair works with his or her Co-Chair to help recruit an effective Volunteer Committee focused on raising revenue, increasing awareness and promoting the concept and activation of The Longest Day.
Recruitment Chair- The Recruitment Chair will assemble a Recruitment Subcommittee to register new and returning teams, party/event hosts, individuals and Global Teams from the community. The Recruitment Chair will work with The Longest Day Chair and Chapter Staff Partner to recruit participants from clubs and organizations focused on a specific activity such as running, crafting or dancing and from community corporations.
Engagement Chair - The Engagement Chair is responsible for leading the Engagement Subcommittee, which will work to retain, coach and support Team Captains, party/event hosts and individual participants toward fundraising success.
Marketing and Outreach Chair-The Marketing and Outreach Chair is responsible for creating awareness about The Longest Day and promoting the event. This individual will recruit a subcommittee to help build in the community through methods such as collateral distribution across the chapter’s geographical area. The Marketing and Engagement Chair should be comfortable in a public speaking role and will recruit members to execute a plan to promote the event throughout the chapter area.
Members are needed in each subcommittee area to assist the chair in the responsibilities that each description above includes. You know the saying "Many hands make less work."
