The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
A mobile food pantry is program that allows Harvesters to distribute nutritious, perishable food in a timely manner to food insecure families. Volunteers are needed on the second Saturday from 11AM-1PM at First Baptist Church. Volunteers will be outside helping with traffic flow, sign-in sheets, loading people’s cars (must be able to lift 5-20 lbs. repetitively), and a bit of clean-up.
Volunteers age 12-15 are welcome with adult supervision. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Volunteer Engagement at 816-929-3090 or email@example.com.
