Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Meals on Wheels Collin County is looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to disabled and older adults in Frisco!
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday starting at 11:00am, with most routes having about 10 seniors and taking approximately one hour. We have a pick up and drop off site at the Senior Senior at Frisco Square, so volunteering is made easy and accessible for anyone interested.
To become a Meals on Wheels driver, there are a couple steps to complete:
Complete the volunteer application and background check form.
Attend a driver's training session, which we hold every Wednesday at 2:00pm at 600 N Tennessee St in McKinney. Please bring your completed documents, $10 for the background check processing fee, your drivers license and your current auto insurance.
You can register for one of our training session, as well as find all the necessary forms at https://www.vomo.org/project/54EKNUnNeqDi6x8rzYTQpr
Once you get these completed, then we will help you find a route that best fits your location and availability and get you delivering meals soon!
