Clearing the hillside

Celebrate the winter solstice by joining us for planting and restoration along Sausal Creek!

We will meet in Dimond Park at the Historic Scout Hut (small building by the newly daylighted creek and Lions Pool): http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/scout_hut.pdf, and send folks out to a few nearby sites for planting and habitat restoration.

Please wear long sleeves, pants, and sturdy shoes. All need a signed waiver to participate ( http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/FOSC_City_Waiver.pdf), and anyone under 18 MUST have a parental signature on both forms. Please RSVP for groups of 6 or more; drop-ins welcome. Contact the Restoration Manager at (510) 325-9006 or nursery@sausalcreek.org for more information.

The Friends recognize that citizen participation, from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students, is critical for building long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.

Description

Friends of Sausal Creek is a volunteer-based, nonprofit, community organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of Oakland’s Sausal Creek Watershed, which drains to the San Francisco Bay. Formed in 1996, the Friends recognize that citizen participation-from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students-is critical for building a long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
