Historic Dumfries Virginia, Inc. is a small non-profit that operates the Weems-Botts Museum in Dumfries, Virginia - Virginia's oldest continually-chartered town. Our mission is to preserve and promote the historical heritage of Dumfries. Dumfries' is a hidden historical gem in northern Virginia. The town was once a bustling colonial port rivaling New York, Philadelphia, and Boston (in terms of tonnage) prior to the Revolutionary War.
Our budget and staff capacity is very limited and we could really use the skills of a few people with experience in non-profit development and/or special event planning.
Examples of projects we need assistance with include:
- Gift shop
- Membership program
- Large fundraising events in our park
- Smaller fundraising events in the annex or offsite
If you are interested in volunteering your development and/or special event skills. Please contact Karleen Kovalcik, executive site manager, at (703) 221-2218 or email@example.com. Thank you!!
