Friends of Trees is partnering with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council and Friends of the Sandy River Delta with support from the US Forest Service, Daimler, the Portland Trail Blazers, PGE's Habitat Fund, Ash Creek Forestry Management, and the Jubitz Foundation to continue native seedling plantings at the Sandy River Delta.
Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance.
Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and get ready to have fun! Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - copy and paste this link http://www.friendsoftrees.org/volunteering/group-registration to do so. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you can simply show up!
Are you under age 18 and planting without your parent/guardian ? A signed youth waiver is required for you to volunteer. We kindly request youth 15 years and younger are accompanied by an adult. Friends of Trees is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization which organizes tree planting and care events in neighborhoods, natural areas and on school grounds in partnership with the community, government and businesses.
Since Friends of Trees was founded in 1989, our volunteers have planted more than 750,000 trees and native plants!
