About

Time is our most precious gift. Share your gift with a hospice patient.

Time is limited yet of eternal value. What makes it so is how you use it and to whom you give it. Share your gift of time with a patient on their end-of-life journey. No special skills are necessary - just a listening ear and an open heart. It will be some of the most rewarding time you'll ever spend.

Great Lakes Caring, a leading home health and hospice agency, is looking for a compassionate volunteer willing to donate their time in the Andover, N. Andover, Burlington, Haverhill, and Newburyport area. We are looking for Administrative, Companionship, and Veteran Volunteers as well as Craft, Music, Photography and Pet Therapy Volunteers.

Are you a Veteran? Are you interested in helping other Veterans? Great Lakes Caring Hospice is looking for compassionate Veteran volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families. Great Lakes Caring partners with the We Honor Veterans organization and strive to provide excellent care to our Veteran patients.

We are looking for companionship volunteers who will visit our Veteran patients in local nursing communities or in their home. The companionship volunteer will provide companionship while playing cards/games, watching TV, reading, listening to music or simply sharing stories.

There is no physical patient care provided and hours are flexible - day, evenings and weekends are needed. Typically we ask that you visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week.

For more information please contact Christi Balloch, Volunteer Coordinator, at 978-518-1719 or by email at cballoch@greatlakescaring.com
