Make a Difference in Someone's Life - Become a Life Stories Volunteer for Hospice (Essex & Middlesex County)
Time is our most precious gift. Share your gift with a Hospice patient. Make a real difference in someone's life!
Time is limited, yet of eternal value. What makes it so is how you use it and to whom you give it. Share your gift of time with a patient on their end-of-life journey. No special skills are necessary, just a listening ear and an open heart. It will be some of the most rewarding time you'll ever spend.
Great Lakes Caring is currently looking for Companion, Veteran, and Administrative Volunteers in addition to Pet and Crafting Volunteers. We have patients in Newburyport, N. Andover, Andover, Burlington and Haverhill that would love to have a visitor.
Great Lakes Caring, a leading home health and hospice agency, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.
One of the services we offer families at the end of their loved ones life is to facilitate the recording of the patient's life story. The volunteer helps by recording the patient as he/she tells their life story. The volunteer may help by prompting with questions and jotting down the responses. This is a way for individuals to renew, relive, and relate their memories and it makes a beautiful keepsake for families.
If you enjoy storytelling, history, and sharing life this is the perfect opportunity for you. Hours are flexible including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
For additional information please contact Christi Balloch, Volunteer Coordinator, at 978-518-1719 or email at cballoch@greatlakescaring.com
