Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board (IFHMB) is a non-profit, public benefit
corporation that has served San Bernardino County and parts of Riverside and
Imperial Counties in Southern California since 1980. Funded by numerous grants
and awards, IFHMB serves as an intermediary to assist individuals in resolving
issues related to housing discrimination, homeownership sustainability, rental
complaints, and disputes in court through the provision of resource
recommendations, education, and mediation.
IFHMB is a values-based, dynamic organization expanding its reach by
facilitating and promoting the general well-being of people through research,
education, advocacy, counseling and housing.
The role of Marketing and Social Media volunteer will be to assist the staff in promoting
IFHMB’s services, workshops, events, and increase awareness of fair housing rights
and responsibilities.
The role has been created for the purpose of communicating externally and building
relationships with existing and potential clients, renters, landlords, funding sources, etc.
The Marketing and Social Media volunteer will be working alongside staff members
throughout the various communities served.
Hours or times of day volunteers are needed: (Flexible Schedule)1-2 hour(s) each
day a few days a week. We will work with your schedule.
Special skills required or recommended for this position: The role would suit a new
graduate from a marketing course or a more experienced marketer who is looking to
gain experience in a new field.
Has some experience of marketing and social media, either through education,
work or volunteering.
Is familiar with using social media and other online tools to generate interest in a
business or project.
Is an excellent communicator.
Is able to write clearly, accurately and succinctly.
Can be flexible with their time: spending a short time each day (although not
necessarily every day) updating social media channels. The volunteer will also
be expected to attend some of our events and workshops with a view to reporting
on them.
Has his/her own transportation.
