Beginning in January 2018, The NEXT Steps Youth Entrepreneur Program will be hosting If I Had A Hammer Math Tutoring and Build Experiences for

  • youth (K-12)
  • young adults (remedial math support)
  • teachers (professional development)
  • adults (continuing education)

If I Had A Hammer is an award winning math app and online course that uses fun, interactive tools that makes learning fractions, algebra, geometry, physics and other math applications fun and easy. Students learn in groups of 25 at a time of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Each training and Hammer Build Experience lasts 2 hours. Deconstruction takes one hour. There will be two build sessions per day. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Hammer Build Experience. During each Hammer Build Experience, volunteers are need to help students construct and deconstruct tiny houses (indoor activity).

Attire: Please wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothing. No open toe shoes, tank tops, jeans with holes, clothing with profanity, gang signs, or symbolism of narcotics or inappropriate or violent gestures.

In order to reduce the negative impact of poverty, The NEXT Steps Youth Entrepreneur Program created The Community On Demand STEAM Education & Life Skills Development Game to help disenfranchised individuals develop the life & high-demand STEAM skills needed to create, secure and retain employment and career-building opportunities located within their local communities.

Imagine a learning management system that uses STEAM education, financial literacy, blockchain technology, entertainment and entrepreneurship to reduce the negative impact of poverty.

The Community On Demand STEAM Education & Life Skills Development Game is a veteran led, STEAM edtech transitional training and staffing solutions platform whose collective impact initiatives create community involvement growth strategies that maximize engagement, generate wealth, and strengthens STEAM skills in order to build sustainable, purpose-built communities.

We focus on five key achievement domains to help communities benefit from the impact solutions that Community On Demand helps learners create as they address, reduce and/or eliminate the socio-economic conditions negatively impacting their communities:
