Stop in after work and help kids read after school. Reading well is necessary to be successful in school. You can help low-income kids become better readers and succeed in school by volunteering just one hour a week.
HIKE Reading Coaches read aloud, play literacy games, and teach kids new skills. The reading sessions are relaxed and fun. By working together, you can help give a child the vital skills they need to read, grow, and succeed. We preapre the lesson plan and activties. You just come build confidence, encourage, and have fun!
Our Reading Labs take place within the low-income housing communities we serve. Reading Coach shifts run between 4:30pm-6:30pm Mondays through Thursdays. Can’t make it for the full two hours? No worries - whether you can come for an hour or two, your help is greatly needed and appreciated!
