Have you or a family member been affected by the disease of addiction? Did you know that more people now die as a result of substance use than from any other cause of death? Join us in our effort to implement prevention programs and raise awareness across our community and throughout the Walled Lake Consolidated School District.
The Lakes Area Community Coalition is looking for volunteers to assist us with creating and posting social media content.
Can you create posts that make people want to click?
Do you love to Tweet?
Is Instagram your favorite means of communicating?
Do you speak fluent Snapchat?
Are you creative, artistic, and enthusiastic but not sure where you might fit in? No problem, get in touch with us and we will find a spot where you can fulfill your passion, gain valuable experience, and make lasting connections with members of our community!
As a part of our coalition, you can contribute to our organization where ever you are! All volunteers are invited and encouraged to attend our monthly coalition meetings but if virtual work is more your thing, we welcome those contributions as well. We use Canva and Doodly to create content and welcome any other suggestions.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Lakes Area Community Coalition is to prevent drug and alcohol use among our youth by promoting healthy activities that reduce risk factors and increase protective factors.
Description
The Lakes Area Community Coalition is a non-profit organization with the following purposes:
Involve youth in aspects of goal setting, planning strategies, and implementation of activities.
To serve the community by promoting awareness, support, and opportunities aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors including alcohol, tobacco and other drug use so our youth may grow to their greatest potential.
To foster the coordination of existing community resources in effectively addressing the problem.
To collaborate with other community organizations to fill these gaps in the community’s alcohol and drug abuse prevention efforts, as available.
To provide advice, advocacy, coordination, information, research and evaluation, technical support, and training as needed to accomplish these objectives.
To secure funding through grants, contributions, and/or fundraisers to enable the Coalition to achieve its goals.CAUSE AREAS
