The Elizabeth Hospice will host a volunteer orientation for our Children’s Bereavement Program from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, September 22-23 (must attend both days of orientation). Volunteers play a critical role in helping to facilitate peer-based grief support groups. Once trained, volunteers will work alongside bereaved children, teens and adults as they explore grief and loss.
Interested participants are asked to serve a six-hour monthly commitment from September to May 2019, at the Center for Compassionate Care of The Elizabeth Hospice located in either Escondido, CA 92025 or San Diego, CA 92108. Volunteers will assist with group facilitation of child and parent groups, administrative support, and community outreach.
The goal is to provide a safe place where children and teens feel heard and supported throughout their grief process. For more information and to register, please email or call Melissa Lunardini, Children’s Bereavement Manager, at Melissa.Lunardini@ehospice.org or 760-796-3705.
