Help end the cycle of poverty in DC by joining the adult education teaching team at the YWCA!

We are looking for competent, passionate, patient, and reliable volunteers to assist our staff instructors in the daytime Intro to Algebra classes for the Winter term, which runs from January 8 through April 12. The classes are an hour each and take place Mondays-Thursdays between the hours of 2:00PM and 3:00PM. Volunteers can sign up to assist one day a week or all four!

The class assistant(s) may be asked to:
* Assist individual students
* Facilitate small groups
* Assist in planning and grading activities and assignments

Potential volunteers must be excellent oral communicators and proficient both in computing and explaining math concepts to learners.

Prior teaching experience is a plus but not a requirement.
