ORGANIZATION: Western Dairyland Homeless Services

PIT

Help us put a number to the amount of homeless in Trempealeau County. Volunteers would cover an area in Trempealeau County including Blair, Ettrick, Galesville, Trempealeau, Eleva, Strum, Osseo, Pigeon Falls, Whitehall, Arcadia, and/or Independence. Covering an area will take approximately one hour between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27th. Training can be provided.

Point in Time is a national count of homeless in the area during that given night. Covering your area would include looking in public areas like parks, parking lots, camp sites, down town areas, Walmart, bridges etc. If a homeless family or person is found, an interview is requested along with completing some paperwork on the interview. These found people are then offered a personnel hygiene item bag to help through their journey.

We will take as many volunteers as possible. We prefer people go in groups of 2 or more. At least one Volunteer needs to be 18 years old per group.
