Love horses (we've got over 35!)? What about cows, goats, pigs, sheep, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, and a variety birds? This is the opportunity for you! At Locket's Meadow Farm Sanctuary (part of Rescues Who Rescue), we love our animals deeply, and strive to give them the best care possible. This is a physical position where you will get your hands dirty (and pants...and boots!). No experience or special skills necessary - we will teach you everything you need to know about how to clean stalls, provide food and water, and help with general upkeep of the barn, stable, and pen facilities. While doing so, you'll be working side-by-side (perhaps even supervised!) by the animals themselves. Even if you're not sure how to interact with the animals, we can teach you the ropes there too, and you'll make fast friends with these amazing creatures who are so grateful for the hard work you're doing to keep their homes clean and their bellies full.
If you're interested, we'll also teach you how to lead the horses to/from their stalls/paddocks, groom, and have more hands-on experience with them.
You will need to dress in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Work gloves and waterproof boots with good traction are highly recommended for your safety.
We need volunteers 7 am to sunset, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
