ORGANIZATION: South King Tool Library

  • 9 people are interested

Are you a resident of Federal Way or another city in South King County or North Pierce County, and do you speak more than one language? The South King Tool Library is looking for volunteers that have proficiency in written translations of English to: Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Somali, Russian, Ukrainian, Amharic, Punjabi, Farsi, Samoan, Chinese, Hindi, Korean or Japanese. We are developing our community outreach plan and we would like to include translations to better serve and reach our diverse community. Additionally, as we establish the operational structure of our library, we would like community members to advise on translation of forms, registrations and other data.

South King Tool Library ( SKTL) will serve all communities in South King and North Pierce Counties. We value volunteers of all ages, ethnicities, backgrounds and interests. We want our organization to reflect the communities we serve.

Mission Statement

The South King Tool Library provides equal access to tools and training in order to help maintain neighborhoods, build community and reduce unnecessary consumption.

South King Tool Library (SKTL) operates much like a traditional library, allowing borrowers to check out tools and equipment to care for their homes, yards, gardens and more.

We are on track to open our doors in 2017, but we needs lots of help to make things happen!

SKTL is a volunteer-run organization. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to suit makers, fixers, creatives, data heads, environmental advocates, community organizers and folks who just like pitching in when they can.
