Liberty Hospice - Veterans for Veterans

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Liberty Lutheran Services

Through this program, Liberty Hospice recruits and trains Veterans for volunteer opportunities with Veterans who are on hospice care. Volunteers are a crucial part of Liberty Hospice’s commitment for ensuring excellent care at the end of life is available for our nation’s Veterans and that support is available for their families.

Veteran Volunteers receive training and guidance about how to simply be present with fellow Veterans as they near end of life. Activities can include reading, chatting, sharing stories, playing games, and getting to know Veterans families and friends who may be visiting.

We ask a one to two hour commitment visiting about once every two weeks. **Background checks and a 2-step PPD are required to visit hospice patients**
