AWEE Mentors are special to us!

Recruiting Women to support other Women as they get back on their feet and look for a new job. We are seeking women who are currently working or retired who would like to share their experience and assist another women reach her goal of independence.

Would you find value in supporting another woman using your valuable advice, experience, communication skills, and network? Reentry Mentoring is a comprehensive program that seeks to decrease recidivism and create stability for women being released from incarceration by providing these women a mentor. We assist women in achieving security both professionally and economically by providing gender specific, comprehensive, wrap around services - with trained mentors at the core. AWEE trains Mentors in successful mentoring best-practices and provides support for both Mentor and Mentee.

We ask mentors to commit to at least one meeting at AWEE a month and about 7 hours a month of contact with your mentee that could be phone in addition to in-person. We meet on the 2 and 4 Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30pm at our office in Central Phoenix. You get to schedule your 1:1 meeting with your mentee at a time and day that works for you both.

We do require that all women interested in being a mentor get a fingerprint clearance card and cover the cost themselves (about $70). Then training and orientation is the first step.

You must be at least 25 years old, have career or job experience and be able to attend some evening meetings and spend time on the phone and meeting with another AWEE participant.
