INSPIRE A FUTURE: VOLUNTEER TO BECOME A MENTOR!
Want to inspire a future? Want to help youth reach their full potential and rise above life’s challenges? Then our new Reach & Rise volunteer mentoring program is what you are looking for! We provide all the training and resources you need to serve as a group mentor to create safe, supportive, and consistent relationships with a group of young people. You will help improve each mentee’s self-esteem, confidence, relationships, decision-making skills, and school performance - all while having fun and being an important part of building stronger communities.
Group Mentoring
Youth ages 8-15 are matched into a group of up to 6 mentees (youth) which is facilitated by two adult volunteer mentors. Group activities are designed to build healthy, supportive, safe and fun relationships.
As little as 2 hours of your time a week can provide a lifetime of opportunity for at-risk youth in our group mentoring program. You can help change your mentee's life, and they will definitely impact yours! As a group mentor, you'll join another adult mentor to facilitate meetings with 1 group of youth ages 8 to 15 to help create safe, supportive, and consistent relationships.
The program is designed for youth ages 8 to 15 who are matched with adult mentors who are recruited and trained by the Y to provide personal mentoring services and create safe, healthy, and meaningful relationships with youth.
Our Group Mentoring Program matches a group of six youth with two mentors for either 8 weeks (summer) or 16 weeks (fall/spring).
Time Commitment
2 hours a week for 8 weeks (summer) or 16 weeks (fall/spring).
For more information and to be a mentor please contact Ronne Partoriza, Program Director, at rpartoriza@ymcahonolulu.org
