Shelter essentials volunteers provide just that - the essentials of our shelters! Your help with daily shelter tasks will facilitate the smooth operation of caring for our animals. Volunteers are critical to our success and we simply could not maintain optimal shelter standards without your support.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize supplies (laundry, litter boxes, bowls, toys, etc.)
  • Sort donations
  • Tidy up outdoor areas (play yards, walkways, etc.)
  • Tidy up indoor spaces (wipe down counters, sweep, mop, etc.)

Requirements
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work independently

Training: Volunteer Orientation, Shelter Essentials class
Commitment: 1 shift per week

Mission Statement

Antioch Animal Services has created a volunteer program dedicated to enriching and promoting animal welfare and public awareness. Through the volunteer program, an emphasis will be placed on reducing and eventually ending the need to euthanize otherwise adoptable companion animals.

Description

Antioch Animal Services has serviced the city of Antioch since 1979. We are the only city in Contra Costa County to offer its own animal services program. Our public services include low-cost micro chipping, dog licensing, and pet adoption.
