Fiver Children's Foundation is seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Accounting Department Intern to join their team! The Accounting Department Intern will work with Fiver's Operations and Accounting Department in a fast-paced environment and report to the Accounting Department. This position is responsible for keeping recorded financial information current. The Accounting Department Intern will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally throughout their internship with Fiver Children's Foundation by assisting Fiver in making a positive impact on the lives of youth throughout New York City and central New York.

Responsibilities include:

• Entering credit card and donation transactions into QuickBooks
• Reclassifying account codes on existing finance entries
• Management of credit card purchase receipts and vendor bills
• Documenting payment information on bills
• Any additional tasks related to this position as assigned

Requirements for this position:

• Detail oriented
• Self-starter who can execute assignments independently
• A strong work ethic and sets high standards for his/her/their own work
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be comfortable with numbers
• Experience with data entry in Excel and QuickBooks preferred, but not required
• Must be able to commit at least 20 hours a week for 6 months

Fiver's Accounting Department Intern will:

• Attend a training on software that will be used throughout the internship
• Be a member of a vibrant and diverse team of staff members and volunteers
• Develop professionally throughout their internship
• Assist Fiver Children's Foundation make informed financial decisions with the information collected, organized, and updated in Fiver's database
• Play a crucial role in a nonprofit organization that makes a 10-year commitment to the youth from underserved communities throughout New York City and central New York and empowers them to make ethical and healthy life choices, become engaged citizens and succeed in school, careers, and life

Time commitment

• Must be able to commit a minimum of 15 - 20 hours a week
