TAPS IS SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS!
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national organization caring for the families of America’s Fallen Heroes. TAPS provides emotional support, casework assistance, 24/7 helpline support, community based care, training programs for those who work with the military, and healing events for surviving families.
In January 2018, TAPS will move into a new National Headquarters located in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, near the Clarendon Metro. We are currently seeking volunteers to serve in the role of guest liaison at our headquarters, warmly welcoming visitors and honoring the military families, survivors, donors, partners, and guests who visit TAPS.
Responsibilities include: greeting and assistance for TAPS staff and guests, basic reception. Volunteers may also help with other administrative tasks, special events, and occasional projects.
Schedule: We are asking that volunteers apply for this program in pairs (we are happy to match you, but you are also welcome to bring a friend!) for a regular shift either from 9AM to 1PM, or from 1PM to 5PM.
We would like to establish a regular volunteer schedule, so please let us know which day(s) of the week and shift(s) would work best for you. You may volunteer one shift per week, twice a month, or once monthly.
Days: Monday through Friday
Morning Shift: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Training will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to participate in as many shifts as their schedule allows. Volunteer Guest Liaisons will be supervised by the TAPS Office Manager.
TAPS will provide volunteers with a TAPS shirt to wear, which can be paired with your own slacks or skirt. We will also provide refreshments during your shift along with the satisfaction of being part of the mission of honoring America’s Fallen Heroes.
Requirements: The ideal candidate has a connection to the military and an appreciation of the TAPS mission. Volunteers must be customer service oriented and have a professional demeanor. We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, who work well with others.
