In February groups/individuals are invited to help our students celebrate being a good friend with Friendship Parties. With your help, students will learn the social skills needed to be a good friend. Groups can provide craft materials to help students create friendship wreaths, where students trace their hands or draw pictures about what makes a good friend. Groups/individuals are invited to practice these friendship skills by becoming pen pals with one of our students. This activity is available even if you aren’t able to physically make it to one of our preschool locations. Groups are also encouraged to bring Valentine’s Day treats to help celebrate.

Our mission is to provide caring, high-quality free education and related services to at-risk children and families in their own neighborhoods to prepare and empower them for success in school and life.
Description
We provide free and fully accredited preschool education for children living in poverty in Northern Virginia. We also provide free family support, literacy, job training, and health programs to the parents of our students, giving children what they need most: strong, capable families. Currently, we serve nearly 200 children and their families each year at six program sites throughout Alexandria and Arlington.
