Business Partners Outreach: Make the initial contact with local businesses. Explain the Monona Area Dementia Friendly Community Initiative and how it benefits those living with dementia and their caregivers as well as the businesses themselves through free customer service education, community recognition and increased customer loyalty. This coordinator can develop a team that would be responsible for making sue the business gets connected with a trainer.

Marketing: Raise the profile of the Monona Area Dementia Friendly Community Initiative through targeting information to the community including submitting notification of recently trained businesses to the local newspaper, helping with the creation and distribution of information about the initiative and it community events and reviewing at monthly meetings what marketing has taken place.

Training: Provide training to front-line staff on how to communicate with, relate to and support customers with dementia and their caregivers. This coordinator will work with a team to make sure the business receives its certificate, window cling and ribbon cutting (if desired). This team will take a picture for marketing purposes and include names of all those pictured. Finally, training updates will be shared at the Monona Area Dementia Friendly Initiative monthly meetings.
