You can help!
Become a Reading Mentor for two Kindergarten students at Dorsa or San Antonio Elementary Schools in San Jose, CA. Your commitment of just 1 hour per week will:
- Help improve students early reading and math readiness
- Increase their confidence and self-esteem
- Instill in them a love for learning
Commit to mentor 1 hour per week (12 reading sessions). Mentoring sessions are conducted at the schools Monday-Friday in between 8:30am to 1:00pm.
Provide a negative Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
Pass Live Scan fingerprinting and background investigation through Santa Clara County’s Sherriff’s Department (Paid by Grail Family Services).
Attend a mandatory mentor training session to prepare you for your mentoring sessions with students.
