Skills Program volunteers meet with youth one-to-one at Sonoma County Juvenile Hall to assist in teaching them basic life skills such as how to:
- Apply for driver's license
- Apply for a job
- Basic financial budgeting
- and more.
The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of community resources or be willing to expand their knowledge with training and research. Volunteers must be comfortable teaching basic life skills and engaging with youth on a personal level. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age. Volunteers must be able to maintain confidentiality and strict boundaries. Monday through Friday, between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

The Volunteer Program, housed in Sonoma County's Human Resources Department, places volunteers throughout 72 different county programs to assist departments in extending and augmenting public services they provide.
