Skills Program volunteers meet with youth one-to-one at Sonoma County Juvenile Hall to assist in teaching them basic life skills such as how to:

  • Apply for driver's license
  • Apply for a job
  • Basic financial budgeting
  • and more.
You will have the opportunity to assist these youth to formulate plans to achieve future goals and provide resources for community services and support.

The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of community resources or be willing to expand their knowledge with training and research. Volunteers must be comfortable teaching basic life skills and engaging with youth on a personal level. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age. Volunteers must be able to maintain confidentiality and strict boundaries. Monday through Friday, between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.
