Education Program Translator - Spanish/English

Save The Bay's education program provides science, marine and environmental education to students around the Narragansett Bay area. We are seeking volunteers during the day who can translate from English to Spanish for students who need it. Volunteers will also assist Save The Bay educators with setup, supervision, and general program support.
Requirements:
- Fluency or strong proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience in education and/or working with children a plus
- Interest in environmental education and environmental science
- Reliable transportation to Save The Bay's Providence office.
- Background check is required (we will process this for you)
- Available weekdays for at least the first four dates.
The current dates and times needed are as follows:
- Oct 27, Nov 17, Dec 15, Jan 19 (all Fridays, 11:30-1:10)
- Monday, Feb 5 morning time TBD
- Mar 9, April 13, May 4 (all Fridays, 11:30-1:10)
- Thursday, May 31st12:42-1:37

Save The Bay protects, restores and improves the ecological health of the Narragansett Bay region, including its watershed and adjacent coastal waters, through an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action; defends the right of the public to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters; and fosters an ethic of environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the Narragansett Bay region.
Description
Save The Bay was founded on the community's desire to protect our most precious resource - Narragansett Bay. To do that, Save The Bay has focused on the development of a committed constituency for the Bay. Children and adults throughout this region have learned the tremendous value the Bay brings to our economy, our environment and our quality of life.
In defense of Narragansett Bay and its watershed, Save The Bay has watched over the activities and programs of the government and the citizenry that degrade the environmental quality of the Bay, basin, and watershed. Save The Bay provides educational opportunities for children and adults to explore the Bay, fostering a understanding and a sense of personal responsibility for the resource.
