At Interfaith Community Services, we are reaching out to ask you to join the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) team for the 2019 tax season. You can be part of the VITA program in so many capacities and have a flexible volunteer schedule. We need volunteers to be Greeters, Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers, and Translators.

To give you an idea of the impact of this program...
In 2019, at various Interfaith locations, 2,271 tax returns were filed with the help of Interfaith’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. This amazing effort of ~20 volunteers and Supportive Services staff resulted in over $3 million in refunds returned to low-income North San Diego County households. The VITA team worked through the new tax laws to ensure the appropriate refunds were returned to people in need in our shared community. Now that’s how to make a difference!

VITA volunteering is an advantage to have on your resume if you just completed college, is an opportunity for volunteers wanting direct client contact, and provides immediate gratification... Think how fun it is to tell someone who didn't expect it that they will receive a refund!
