Volunteers serve as gallery attendants in the Third Space exhibition (contemporary art) where they will help visitors access the Museum's smartguide (digital guide to the collection), check out iPads, conduct visitor surveys, and are available to answer visitor questions and engage in conversations about contemporary art. Shifts are 10am-1:30pm or 1:30-5pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12-2:30pm or 2:30-5pm on Sunday. Currently, there are more opportunities on Tuesday-Friday. Special skills and requirements: excellent customer service skills, friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and comfortable with the basics of operating an iPad.

Volunteering at the BMA is a great way to meet people with similar interests, give back to your Museum and community, and learn about art! Beyond these benefits, volunteers who sign up for a minimum of 2 shifts a month for 6 months receive a free six month membership to the Museum. As a member, you will receive the Member Magazine, discounts in the store and cafe, free admission or discounted admission to Museum events and studio classes.
