We are seeking for native Spanish speaking volunteers to teach Social Studies in Spanish at the Centro Hispano Marista.
You do not need to be an educator to teach at the Centro. Our teachers are all wonderful volunteers that come from very different backgrounds. What they all have in common is a heart for teaching and a desire to help the less fortunate improve their future through education.
Books, syllabus and training are provided. Classes are every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at Marist School in Atlanta, Ga. Classes start on Tuesday February 6th for the Spring semester and run through May 8th. There will be a new teacher training workshop on January 23rd and January 25th from 7 to 9 pm at Marist School.
The mission of Centro Hispano Marista is to prepare our students, mostly young Hispanic adults, to complete the GED program and obtain their diploma.
We would love to have you join our team and together make a difference!

Mission Statement
Centro Hispano Marista is a nonprofit program that offers adults affordable educational preparation to obtain their GED diploma, so they can pursue higher education, aspire to better jobs, and secure a promising future for themselves and their families regardless of their background.
Description
Centro Hispano Marista provides GED preparation classes for adults. GED, or General Educational Development test, certifies the equivalency of high school education. When a student works on their high school equivalency, their children and those around them are more likely to earn their diploma on time, making Centro’s impact multi-generational.
Centro Hispano Marista is a ministry of the Society of Mary. Since 1901, the Society of Mary has shared its educational mission with thousands of students and their families in the Atlanta area. Marists are inspired "to think, judge, feel and act as (Mary) in all things." The Marist Way core values include discipleship, simplicity, humility, hidden and unknown, simplicity, hospitality and inclusiveness.
Centro Hispano Marista intends to reach out to and uplift those marginalized by poverty in great need of an education following the Marist Way. It is a key part of the program to offer a welcoming environment for students regardless of their background or immigration status to complete their educational goals in an affordable way and with compassion.
