girls empowering each other
This group of girls and their coach are having fun at our celebration 5K

We welcome enthusiastic, dedicated and positive volunteers who are committed to empowering girls with valuable life lessonsfor a healthy, confident and happy life. Coaches are parents, teachers, school administrators, college students and other community members who are committed to developing and celebrating our girls.

Our volunteer coaches work with girls after school, leading them through the Girls on the Run-developed curriculum, stretching and running activities, and training for the end-of-season 5K celebration run. Each team has at least two coaches. The program meets twice a week for 90 minutes and runs for 10 weeks from March-May.

About Girls on the Run

Location:

111 Erick Street, Suite 115, Crystal Lake, IL 60014, US

Mission Statement

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Description

At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
