Want to make a difference?
Do you want to make the world a better place? Are you interested in nature and environmental advocacy? Make a difference in any number of ways on the local, state, national, and international levels by blogging, outreaching, fundraising, researching, graphic designing, and much, much more. All assignments are completed remotely and so are great for those who value flexibility or have limited mobility. Interested individuals must be willing to serve a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Please Note: due to the constantly evolving health crisis, the operations of many RSVP partners have been, and may still be, impacted (ie. staff may be remote and organizations may not be taking on new volunteers). However, this particular position is at a partner that is always remote.

Mission Statement
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City was started in 1966 by the Community Service Society (CSS), an over 170-year-old nonprofit agency. CSS's mission is to identify problems which create a permanent poverty class in New York City, and to advocate the systemic changes required to eliminate such problems. CSS will focus on enabling, empowering and promoting opportunities for poor families and individuals to develop their full potential, to contribute to society, and to realize social, economic, and political opportunities.
Description
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City matches adults 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities at New York City nonprofits. With more than 2,300 volunteers, our program is one of the largest senior volunteer programs in the nation. There are over 600 of us which operate nationally and many that do so internationally. We match volunteers on the basis of interests and abilities, community needs, geographic convenience, and experience.
