Inspiring Minds a non-profit organization, is searching for volunteers to helping a child succeed in school. We are currently in great need of volunteer tutors to assist students at Providence Public schools, at least once a week, in literacy or math in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade. from Monday trough Friday, 9:00 - 3:00 pm.
Volunteer requirements:
-Submit to a background check
-Attend 2 hr training
-commit to an hour or more a week
All other training and materials provided by Inspiring Minds and Providence Public School District.

Description

Inspiring Minds is an antiracist organization committed to closing equity gaps based on race, ethnicity, first language, and economic status that impact RI students and families. The organization was founded as Lippitt Hill Tutorial in1963 to provide academic support for children in two segregated elementary schools. Since then, the organization has grown into a citywide service and, in 1988, became Volunteers in Providence Schools to reflect its citywide approach to addressing academic inequities. Finally, the name Inspiring Minds was adopted in 2008 as the programs and scope of work expanded beyond Providence City's borders. Join us as we aim for programming in schools across the state!
