Hike Leaders are needed to guide student and adult groups along forested trails. Persons with special knowledge of trees and associated animal habitat is necessary. The ability or willingness to engage and teach children and/or adults is important. Enthusiasm for promoting outdoor life goes a long way in making a Hike Leader.
Volunteer hours are typically in mornings from about 9am - 1pm. Our school programs occur in April, May and June, our busiest time of year. Community groups occur all throughout the year and volunteer Hike Leader are needed approximately once bi-weekly. As a Hike Leader, there is the opportunity to develop your own hike program. We would like to offer the public: Winter Bud ID, Wildlife in the Winter, Pollinators and Insects, Trees: the Giants of the Plant Kingdom.....etc...
