Our volunteers provide support to women and children survivors of domestic violence. Opportunities now available include Victim Advocate Volunteer, Transportation Volunteer, and Child Care Volunteer. Comprehensive training and orientation will be provided. A background check is required, and volunteers under eighteen years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteering can involve empathetic listening and giving emotional support; it can also involve sharing your personal talents with our residents. Something as simple as cooking a meal together or having a "spa day" with the residents can lift spirits and improve self-esteem. Helping children with their homework or teaching them a craft can improve feelings of self-worth for younger survivors.
There are infinite ways to make a difference. Contact us to learn more.
