129 MAIN ST, BINGHAMTON, NY 13905, US

Mission Statement

The Bundy Museum of History and Art exists to preserve and present to the public the historic Harlow E. Bundy house and its associated history, with regard to the socio-cultural context surrounding it. The museum serves as a center for historical preservation and research; artistic exploration, creation, and exhibition; and serves its community by hosting events that educate the public about local history and art, and that help build local identity and pride. The Bundy Museum holds collections that include Bundy, ITR, and IBM time recording clocks; works of art with local emphasis; Rod Serling memorabilia; Victorian era furnishings and decorative art; and media pertaining to local popular culture. The museum maintains and preserves its collections, and makes them available to the public through exhibits, live and digital programming, and publications in all forms.

Description

The Bundy Museum of History and Art is a small, welcoming, eclectic museum, featuring changing exhibits of local art every First Friday; a vintage barber shop; African art gallery; an exhibit of early time clocks telling the forgotten story of the Bundy Manufacturing Company, precursor to tech giant I.B.M.; and more, all surrounded by the Victorian grandeur of the National Register listed Harlow E. Bundy house. Our current expansion includes a community darkroom, a classroom, artist studios, 3 new exhibit galleries, gift shop and radio station.
