ORGANIZATION: A ROUND OF APPLAUSE MAGAZINE
Please visit the new page to apply.
A Round of Applause (ARoA) Magazine is a nonprofit organization with a program that offers basic Journalistic skills to kids in the Baton Rouge community. Our mission is to encourage the youth to speak their voices, chase their dreams and be creative through the arts.
This program is a 14-week Enrichment Program held at Kenilworth Middle Science & Technology School that equips and empowers youth to take action in leading their generation through the skill of communication and development in Journalism. These students will be guided to learn how to develop news, ideas and scripts. Kids will be on the forefront of telling the stories from the youth's perspective. This program is designed to give youth the opportunity to become the leaders of their communities, schools and homes by creating ways to empower their generation through the projection of their voices.
We are searching for instructors that would like to guide the youth into learning the basic skills of Journalism. By the end of our program, the skills the youth learn in this program will be put into action through our organization by participating in one of the following:
Becoming an ARoA Magazine Journalist
Youth Publishers
Broadcast youth journalists
Technical writers
Youth News reporters
Editors
The group that attends our program to the end will be the team that develops A Round of Applause Magazine's May 2018 issue. If you join us, you will be a part of this success as well.
