VOLUNTEER JOBS
Hunt Hill Farm uses its land/gardens and the kitchen as classrooms to teach students about food - where it comes from, how it grows, how it’s prepared, and how it affects their health and their environment.
Our educational classes emphasize hands-on activities on the farm and in kitchen settings, but also include student readings and experiences that deepen academic inquiry in related fields, as well as growing healthier communities. Along with offering educational classes, the Silo engages families and communities to provide access to fresh produce and encourage healthy eating.
Our nonprofit educational programs are designed to change the preferences, attitudes, and eating behaviors of young in favor of healthier foods. We do this through hands-on, experiential classes that are integrated into the daily school curriculum. In our gardens and kitchens, in homerooms and cafeterias, we are working to ensure that all children have access to the transformative power of enjoying fresh and healthy food.
As a nonprofit, the Hunt Hill Farm relies on volunteers to actively participate in the many activities and events in order to support land use, arts and food.
COOKING SCHOOL JOBS
The Cooking School hosts classes both during the week and on the weekends all year round. The kitchen jobs include dish washing, assisting with food preparation, supporting the Chef and interacting with the attendees. Cooking school jobs are designed for grades 8 through 12 and adults.
FARM/GARDEN JOBS
Farm & Garden jobs are outdoor or greenhouse that engage students in hands-on tasks like planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and building compost. Farm/Garden jobs are designed for grades 2 through 12 and adults.
EVENT JOBS
HHF is a local destination venue for cultural events, music, lecture series, art and corporate events. We are always looking for teenagers and adults to support the events with jobs ranging from handing out pamphlets, set-up and tear-down, to directing attendees and parking. Event jobs are designed for grades 7 through 12 and adults.
