Food Pick-Up Volunteers Needed on Thursdays
Time Slots Open: 9-10 am, 10-11:30 am, 1:15-2:15 pm, 2:15-3:30 pm, 2-3 pm, 3:30-4:30 pm
and 3-4pm.
Communities In Schools (CIS) is welcoming new volunteers who enjoy bringing fresh and packaged foods into the Santa Fe Public Schools to support our families in need. This is a weekly position from August - May. To ease the food distribution process each school has a set day and time for pick-up. The following list is a general summary of tasks you may do as a Food Pick-Up Volunteer:
- Pick-up groceries from The Food Depot weekly and deliver groceries to assigned school site
- Return plastic pallets and boxes to The Food Depot
Work Environment: The Food Depot/CIS School
Lifting Requirement: 50 lbs
Travel Requirements:
- Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration
- Auto insurance
- Pass SFPS background check
Food Bag Prep/Snack Pack Delivery Volunteer
Communities In Schools (CIS) is welcoming new volunteers who enjoy bringing fresh and packaged foods into the Santa Fe Public Schools to support our families in need. This is a weekly position from August - May. The following list is a general summary of tasks you may do as a Food Bag Prep/Snack Pack Volunteer:
- Sort fresh and packaged foods into grocery bags, hand-out filled food bags to families (parents or students must sign for the bags)
- Maintain calm atmosphere while distributing food bags.
Snack Pack Delivery Volunteer: Deliver non-perishable snack packs to classrooms.
Work Environment: CIS School
Lifting Requirement: 50 lbs

Description
The CIS Volunteer Tutoring Program is designed to give young people an opportunity to have a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult, while helping them to succeed in the classroom and achieve in life. Young people thrive when adults care about them on an individual level, giving them a sense that they belong to a caring community. There are also opportunities to help with other activities that support students in their families, such as bi-weekly food distribution.
