Living with someone who has a mental illness can be challenging, when that loved one is a veteran or member of the military these challenges can become overwhelming. If you are someone who has lived through this situation and is willing to share their story, we want you! NAMI Homefront is a 10 week course ( January-specific dates to come) that offers information, resources, and access to a community of people who understand your experience.

To offer mutual support and empowerment to persons and their families affected by serious mental illness through education, advocacy, and emotional support.

Description

National Alliance on Mental Illness is America's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and familes affected by mental illness such as major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on mental illness, a national organization including NAMI organizations in every state and in over 1200 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission.

NAMI provides free educational programs and support groups for individuals living with mental illness and families/friends. Additionally, NAMI organizes educational events in schools and the local community.
