Intergenerational Bridges volunteers build relationships with at-risk English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students through a weekly after-school mentoring and tutoring program in the students' elementary school. Volunteers help students improve English communication and language skills, strengthen academic success strategies and increase self-confidence through individual and small group support.
All materials, training, and on-site supervision provided. Volunteers must be fluent in English, complete training for the program, and pass a criminal background check in order to participate.
Volunteers must be age 50 or older.
Intergenerational Bridges is a program of JCA Heyman Interages Center.
