The Envisioning Youth Empowerment Retreat is a week-long residential summer camp for youth with visual impairments. We aim to teach college preparation skills by matching visually impaired high school students with college mentors, exposing them to available resources, and giving them real world experiences on college campuses and in the community. We are seeking 5 college students who would be willing to serve as a mentor for a group of visually impaired high schoolers. In this role, the mentor would escort the groups from activity to activity, provide support with completion of assignments, share experiences or offer advice, assist with mealtime, and help with planning recreation activities. We offer free food for the week, free housing for the week, and community service hours, if needed. For more information on a typical week, visit our website at www.eyeretreat.org.
